Charter

We the members of The Drunks of the Round Table, by the order of the King, hereby declare this charter as our guide. 

Article #1 - Structure

The Drunks of the Round Table was established in order to promote friendship and camaraderie. There are two divisions within the group.

The Lord High Drunkard - The Lord High Drunkard shall oversee the other divisions in the group. 

DoRTs - The rest of the membership.

Article #2 - Conduct

Conduct of proper civility is demanded amongst all members. If you cannot act civil, you will leave the group. It is most important to remember that we are guests at faire just like everyone else who has paid to get in. We are social group and we welcome everyone to join our ranks.

Article # 3 - Membership

The Drunks of the Round Table are an illustrious group that hold friendship number one. Drunkeness, a feeling of fair play, a sense of humor, and the ability to have fun, make us a group whose membership is diligently sought after and highly esteemed. Anyone can apply to petition The Drunks of the Round Table for membership through any active member. The active member is allowed to sponsor one person per season. Each sponsor is responsible for their petitioner(pets) at all times until they are full members of the group. Petitioners are required to abide by all rules of the charter. They will maintain petitioner status until the following MDRF season before full membership privileges apply. An “Instant In” is only at the discretion of the Lord High Drunkard.

The Lord High Drunkard - The Lord High Drunkard isselected by vote from nominated members every MDRF season. Nominations will take place during the Annual Pub Crawl. A vote will be conducted online and the nominee with the most votes will take office on the closing weekend of the current MDRF season.

Active Member - Individual that has met requirements to be a member and is considered Active in accordance with the charter. Active Members must attend at least two Free Beer o'Clock or Shooter Service per season to remain active. An Active Member has full voting rights.

Inactive Member - Individual who reached Active status but has not maintained that status according to the Charter. An Inactive member has no voting privileges.

Petitioner - Individual who desires to become a member of The Drunks of the Round Table and has found an Active Member who is willing to sponsor them.

Article # 4 - Dues

Currently we are not charging dues for membership. A pin will be available for purchase to show membership in the group.

Article # 5 - Attendance

Attendance is a must to belong, or why join? Our year begins on the first weekend of MDRF. An active member is required to attend at least two official group events. When events are scheduled at other faires active members are expected to make the event if they attend the faire.

Shooter Service - Shooter Services take place every MDRF day from 12pm to 2pm at O'Shucks. We ask that all participants, whether shrimp or oyster, chip in for the buying of shooters. The first person to pick up a shooter for each round must make a toast for the group assembled.

Free Beer o'Clock - Free Beer o'Clock takes place at the descretion of the festival from 2pm to 4pm at the Dragon's Pit. Every 15 minutes during FBo'C we well shout our cry to the masses.
(Come on folks, don't forget to tip your bartenders, they are taking care of you, you take care of them.)

Free Wine o'Clock - Free Wine o'Clock takes place at the descretion of the festival from 1pm to 3pm at the Wine Garden. Every 15 minutes during FWo'C we well shout our cry to the masses.

Annual Pub Crawl - With the days and times posted on the main MDRF FoF website, we will partake in at least one pub crawl per season.

Article # 6 - Amendments/Acceptance

This Charter may be amended by no less than two thirds affirmative vote of all active members of The Drunks of the Round Table. A motion to amend must be made at least one meeting and 7 days prior to voting on the proposed amendment. Changes affecting this charter that were not brought up at the last meeting will not be voted on for a period of 30 days. 

This charter will become effective at the first Shooter Service at MDRF 2007.
